The Place

I visited this resto twice during my short trip to Brussels (which gives you a clue as to how good it is). Once on the first night. And once on the last, so I could take a little bit of the vibe and the taste of that amazing food back to London with me.

Toucan Sur Mer is a buzzing little seafood restaurant. Prices are premium. But when you’re getting seafood this fresh, I think you’re spending that extra moolah for the right reason.

The Neighbourhood

You’ll find Toucan Sur Mer in the area around Avenue Louise and close to the Made in Louise hotel. It’s a vibrant, international district full of art nouveau architecture and no end of bars, restaurants and boutiques.

A Good Shout for…

Seafood lovers. I think the pictures prove the point.

The Best Bits

  • The casual, laidback vibe. There isn’t an ounce of pretension in this place.
  • Watching the guys prepping fish and seafood at a kind of fishmonger’s stall within the restaurant.
  • If you don’t fancy a full sit down dinner, head past the restaurant door to the little open window around the corner. Here you can sit up on stools and get fresher-than-fresh oysters with a glass of champagne. It’s a really sweet set-up.
