The Place

Ósinn restaurant is part of the Höfn Hotel in – you guessed it – the Icelandic town of Höfn. The restaurant is open to guests and rocker-uppers alike and serves amazing food from 5PM to 10PM.

The Neighbourhood

Höfn is a small town on the south eastern tip of Iceland, about six hours drive from Reykjavik. It’s close to some spectacular fjords and Iceland’s biggest glacier.

In town you’ll find a couple of supermarkets and a few petrol stations (so you can fill your car after filling your belly). There are a few other restaurants too but Restaurant Höfn should sit top of your list.

A Good Shout for…

A seafood feast. It's all about the lobster, folks.

The Best Bits

  • Iceland is famous for its lobster. And Restaurant Höfn gives it the total and utter respect it deserves. There’s lobster soup and lobster pasta on the menu. There’s even a lobster pizza – two of my favourite things on one plate – what’s not to love?
  • The happy hour cocktails from 5pm to 6pm. These guys mix some amazing drinks.
  • The ambience. It’s very Nordic, very hygge. And there’s a buzzy atmosphere. Service is also great, with super friendly, smiley staff who make you feel right at home.
  • The takeaway service. If you don't fancy the whole shebang of a sit down dinner, opt for a Restaurant Höfn pizza in the comfort of your hotel room.
