The Place

Makisu is part of a small Brussels resto chain. It serves up super-fresh, super-tasty sushi, in super-fast time. Prices are reasonable, which is probs why this place seems to attract a younger crowd.

The Neighbourhood

Châtelain, which is full of cool bars, boutiques and eateries. Makisu is five minutes’ walk from the Made in Louise hotel and literally seconds from Knees to Chin, another of my fave Asian flavour joints in Brussels.

And if you fancy a different kind of cuisine, check out La Quincaillerie, Grizzly, the Barn Bio Market or Toucan Sur Mer, all walkable in under ten mins.

A Good Shout for…

Cheap and cheerful sushi.

The Best Bits

  • Choosing ingredients from the four step menu to mix and match my own sushi creations.
  • The interior. Simple, no-nonsense but with a fun and quirky vibe.
  • How cheap it is. Nobu might be my sushi ride-or-die. But those high-end prices mean a sushi-addict like me has to find other ways to get a fix. Makisu satisfied cravings to perfection.
