The Place

Berners Tavern, named after the road on which it sits, is possibly the most fabulously glamorous restaurant in London (just take a look at the photos!). There’s a Michelin starred chef (Jason Atherton) in the kitchen and a menu of contemporary British cuisine to choose from.

It’s part of the London Edition hotel, which you’ll find right next door.

The Neighbourhood

In the Noho area of Central London. A short walk from both Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Circus stations. You’ll find this place five minutes’ walk from Soho Square and around the corner from the Charlotte Street Hotel.

Some other favourite haunts - Ethos, Flesh & Buns and Yalla Yalla - are all close by too.

A Good Shout for…

Dinner to celebrate something special. Or a cheeky eggs Benedict if you want to get the Berners Tavern experience without breaking the bank. There’s also a set lunch menu if you visit during the day.

The Best Bits

  • The dazzling interior. Grander than grand. Gilt framed paintings covering the walls. The stucco ceiling. It’s the ultimate old-school eye candy.
  • The food. Which lives up to the setting. Delicious contemporary cuisine. An amazing Sunday roast. And a Michelin-standard breakfast, served from 7am to 10.30am. I’d have it every day if I was in the city (and could afford it!).
  • The service. As attentive but discreet as you’d expect.
